1. General Information


1.1 Organizer

1.1.1. The 1st World Aerobatic Yak-52 Championship (WAYAKC 2008) will be organized on behalf of the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) by the Federation of Aeronautical Sports of Russia (FAS).

1.1.2 The operational organizer is the Novosibirsk Aviation Club.

1.2 Date and Place

1.2.1 The event will take place between the 17th and 24th of August, 2008.

1.2.2 The venue of the 1st World Aerobatic Yak-52 Championship is the Airport “Severnyi” of Novosibirsk (YNCC) in the central part of Russia. See the roadmap from our website www.wayakc2008.ru

1.2.3 Airport information: see appendix 1.

1.3 International Access to the Site

1.3.1 The international visitors will arrive by air in Novosibirsk, Russia. The possible way is transit through Moscow, the capital of Russia, there are many flights to Novosibirsk.

1.4 Local Transport

1.4.1 The organizers will provide transportation between places of accommodation and the airfield.

1.5 Accommodation

1.5.1 The entry fee includes accommodation from 17th to 24th of August. The exact place of accommodation will be declared at the Bulletin no.2

1.6 Meals

1.6.1 The entry fee includes following meals

  • Breakfast, lunch, dinner
  • Dinners at Opening and Closing ceremony

2.2 The schedule above may be changed due to technical or organizational issues, or weather conditions.
2.3 All times are in local times (LT = UTC + 6 hours)

3. Regulations

3.1 The Championship will be conducted according to the following rules:

FAI Sporting Code General Section
FAI Sporting Code Section 6 part 1
CIVA Regulations
Flight Rules Issued by Russian Aviation Authorities
Local Regulations

No line judges will be used.

4. Official Language

4.1 English will be the official language to be used at the championship. In all interpretations the English language version of the FAI Sporting Code and the CIVA Regulations will prevail.

4.2 Information will be published and briefings will be conducted in English.

4.3 Radio communications will be conducted in English. Competition frequency will be defined at a later date.

5. Entry Requirements

5.1 Participants are

Team Members and Observers
Officials

5.1.1. Competing Pilots

5.1.1.1 The championship is open to all pilots who are members of the FAI Member Clubs.

5.1.1.2 The entries of the National Teams or competing pilots will be accepted from FAI Member Clubs. FAI Member Club may send pilots up to a maximum of 8. (1.2.4.2.b, Section 6, FAI Sporting Code)

5.1.1.3 The solo entries are allowed for FAI Sporting Licence holders from FAI Member Clubs.

5.1.1.4 All competitors have to be a holder of:

A valid Pilot Licence
A valid FAI Sporting Licence
A valid personal insurance policy, valid for Russia

5.1.2. Team Members and Observers
Team composition includes 8 Competing Pilots and following Team Members:

Chief Delegate
Team Manager
Coach
Doctor
Interpreter
Mechanics
Relatives of competitors

Number of Team Members and Observers is not limited.

 

5.1.3 Officials

The Officials, as defined in FAI Sporting Code, Section 6, may enter as Team Members.

 

5.2 Aircraft

5.2.1 All competing aircraft must be Yak-52 only.

5.2.2 Organizer provides competitors with aircraft Yak-52 on the site of Championship. Basic aircraft lease per pilot (including 2 hours of flight time, fuel and oil) is 800 Euro.

5.2.3 In case of own aircraft use, the following documents must be produced to the Organizer for every competing aircraft:

  • A valid certificate of airworthiness or equivalent document issued by the relevant aviation authority of the participant’s country
  • A valid registration certificate or equivalent document issued by the relevant aviation authority of the participant’s country
  • A Certificate of Insurance against Third Party Liability covering a minimum limit 2000000 Euro, valid for Russia for the period of staying there.

 

5.2.4 Organizer supplies fuel and oil for competition flights

6. Entry

6.1 The Preliminary Entry Form shall be found from our website www.wayakc2008.ru

Deadline for Preliminary Entry is May 10th 2008.

6.2 The Official Entry Form shall be found from our website www. wayakc2008.ru

 


Deadline for Official Entry depends on chosen Entry Fee in categories 1. to 4.

7.2 Entry Fee deadlines

Fees must reach the Organizer according to section 6.2 Notice! Please reserve enough time for your bank transfer.

7.4 The Entry Fee will cover:

1. Shared accommodation in double room
2. Breakfast, lunch and dinner
3. Transportation between airfield and places of accommodation
4. Official and social functions

A single room surcharge of 400 euros applies.

Protest can be submitted by paying 100 euros.

10. Training

10.1. Training Airfields

Information about training airfields will be provided in Bulletin no.2 and also from our website www.wayakc2008.ru

10.2 Training at Novosibirsk, Severniy Airport

10.2.1 Training in the official Aerobatic Box on 14th to 16th of August 2008

10.2.2 Training flights may be carried out in the official Aerobatic Box in accordance to the list based upon the order of arrival on the spot. Training flights cost - 300 Euro per hour.

Visa requirements must be determined by the contestant with the authorities of the country in question.
